As Director of Educational Technologies I…
- Provide leadership and assistance in all areas of academic computing including the University’s on-line programs and technology-mediated learning
- Manage academic technology budget, contracts, and partnerships
- Develop and implement strategies to promote, enhance and enrich teaching through present and emerging technologies
- Assist in development, implementation, and enforcement of policies and procedures regarding academic software and hardware, reporting, database access, copyright and license compliance, backups, system security, project plans and status reports
- Provide instructional guidance in development of activities for web based, or hybrid courses
- Evaluate and assess effectiveness of teaching and learning technologies
- Lead instructional design initiatives in the online environment
- Provide direction and vision to the successful deployment and integration of web and multimedia technologies in the classroom or online
- Advise and recommend instructional support, digital technologies and learning space solutions
- Support existing technology projects and promote new learning technologies that enhance all aspects of teaching and learning
- Maintain workflow and budgets in regards to online and educational technology initiatives
- Provide leadership to staff in the areas of multimedia production
- Manage cloud and software as a service (SaaS) contracts and work with consultants and vendors of hardware and or/software products to evaluate and troubleshoot third party products and services
- Work as a key leader in researching, evaluating, recommending, designing classrooms and interactive learning spaces, conference rooms, and public areas of the school
- Insure that multimedia and systems in classrooms and conference rooms are maintained and operational on a day-to-day basis
- Develop and present faculty workshops for specific technology initiatives and strategies
- Participate in and promote a culture of continuing quality improvement
